w/ Liam Doc
Wednesday 22nd August
Starts 23:00 // Ends 03:00
The Selectors Series is back after a seriously high quality launch night back in April. It’s the same again this time round: educating the floor with the best gems our fine line-up of selectors can get their hands on.
Old disco cuts have always held a special place in rave history, uniting dancefloors and providing samples for some of the known dance records in history. Who better to take the reigns of our next instalment than Scotland’s new edit king, Liam Doc? The local selector has being making some serious noise around the scene with a series of baws to the wall cuts championed by superstars like Denis Sulta and past gust Big Miz (think that monster Voices of East Harlem Edit). Running his label Eyeangle Records and club night Aura out of the legendary Paisley institution The Club, he’s becoming well known for his acid flecked, high-energy disco sets. Quoting Fatboy Slim’s mantra for good records: ‘If a song can be stripped back to a bass line and a beat and it still sounds good without all the frills then I’ll go with it.’ Pretty solid way to run a record label if you ask us.
After a stellar performance at Tweak_’s recent mansion party and huge nights for our pals Hector’s House in Edinburgh, it was a no brainer to get along Scotland’s next big dance music star. Drinks from £1.50 and quality records from doors with your favourite A//P residents Keyden & Kopka and Findlay Stephen setting the tone.
