Throughout our 10th year we’ll be joining forces with regular promoters in the club to bring in acts that we both love, continuing on May 4th with Lezure to bring you Special Request and Darwin!

Having thrown some exceptional parties throughout Edinburgh, Glasgow and Berlin, which saw them welcome the likes of Shanti Celeste, Pangea and Aurora Halal (not forgetting the aforementioned!) it felt only right to welcome back some old friends and club favourites along for the ride.

Paul Woolford’s Special Request project harkens back to the days of pirate radio and UK rave. Early house, Jungle and Hardcore are the obvious references throughout his sound, however there’s is much more to Special Request’s oeuvre, best displayed in his Fabriclive 91 mix, which juxtaposed ambient pieces from the late Mika Vaino alongside neck breaking electro from DJ Stingray and classic breaks of jungle legends like Dillinja. His DJing style reflects this, playing both eclectic and classic sets frequently at Fabric as well as highlight sets at global festivals such as Dekmantel.

Darwin has been a resident at Berlin’s beloved Greissmuhle since 2015, propelling her as one of the key champions of the UK sound in Berlin. Head of the legendary REEF party she’s responsible for bringing Ben UFO, Objekt, Kode9, Untold and many more to Germany whilst also running the SPE:C label, releasing a strong run of bass-centric 12’s with a unique sci-fi aesthetic. As a DJ, her sets bridge the gap between rave, breaks, electro and techno maintaining a floor focused vibe throughout.

As you can probably guess, on the night you can expect plenty of breaks, acid and bass, a homage to the classic sounds of early UK rave with a distinct nod to the future, familiarise yourself with the mixes below as we await what two of the finest purveyors of the UK sound have in store!
