LA CHEETAH X PARTIAL PRESENTS…
ADLER, UBO & WARDY
Throughout the course of our 10th year we’re taking great pride in teaming up with some of our regular promoters to bring you acts we both love. May 18th we team up with to bring you two of the finest young talents to emerge in recent times… Batu and Upsammy!
Bristol based Batu is one of the next generation of UK producers pushing boundaries of ‘global bass-minded music culture’. With a string of relentlessly forward thinking 12”s on labels such as Livity Sound, Hessle Audio and his own Timedance he’s established a unique sound, leading him to be subsequently recruited by big players, XL and R&S to showcase his craft. Timedance as a label and a tight-knit collective has gone from strength to strength with killer output from a range of Bristol contemporaries Ploy, Laksa, Bruce, Lurka, Giant Swan and many more. As a DJ Batu is not one to shy away from taking risks, you never really know what you’re going to get – but quality is a constant. His sets span everything from sub 100bpm chuggers and dancehall flavours to bass heavy UK techno and murky garage. As a recent recording of his set at Dekmantel Selectors shows (touted by many as one of the best of the year), he is a DJ at the top of his game.
Upsammy is one of the most promising artists to emerge from Holland recently. The Amsterdam based DJ’s unconventional sound has earned her a residency at De School, as well a string of booking across Europe’s elite club circuit. Her DJ sets feature a certain sci-fi element from spacey IDM tinged electro to tripped out techno rollers, gliding with ease from 90BPM and beyond. As recent releases on Whities and Nous’klaer illustrate, her productions share a similarly otherworldly aesthetic leading her to be tapped by Mr. Fingers AKA Larry Heard for a remix of his 2018 Outer Acid. This month sees Upsammy release her first mini-LP on Rotterdam based Nous’klaer Audio. Her sound was recently described by Truants as ‘spacious, hazy, weird and a masterclass in sound design and intricate drum programming’.
With renowned party starters and club resident Ubo, Adler and Wardy on hand to get you grooving, we can’t wait to hear what this pair have in store! Advance tickets on the link below.
