Partial & Kunst
w/ Silent Servant (3 hour set)
Friday 16th June
Starts 23:00 // Ends 03:00
After countless months of trying between both party’s to pull this one off, we are buzzing to finally announce the Glasgow debut of LA’s absolute champion – Silent Servant.
Mendez’s techno origins stretch back to the late ’90s, when he ran avant-techno label Cytrax and its sister label Delay with Steve Tang and Kit Clayton (under his Jasper alias). Alongside Regis and Function, Silent Servant was one of the co-founders of the now defunct Sandwell District label, one of the most iconic and intriguing techno labels of the late 00’s. Following the split of that label – SS wasted little time in turning his creative attention to another pursuit: Jealous God (with Regis again and James Ruskin), a label pushing forward thinking techno and more that draws on industrial sensibilities.
Further releases on L.I.E.S, Cititrax and Hospital, and mixes for the likes of Fabric and a recording from the 25th anniversary of Tresor all help to distinguish Mendez’s current musical vision – considering he’s got three hours to himself in the intimate confines of La Cheetah – this one’s gonna be a belter.
