In 1989 a musical revolution swept UK clubs. Powered by sub-bass, shuffling 909’s and sparse electronic melodies, the records sounded like nothing that had come before. Just like Detroit techno and electro, this new sound was concerned with the future. This, though, was an uncertain future – not the unbridled prosperity promised by Margaret Thatcher’s Conservative government, but that of a bleak, post-industrial scene lived by the sound’s creators, teenagers and 20-somethings from the former industrial heartlands of Yorkshire. By the autumn of 1990, LFO’s Leeds Warehouse Mix had dominated clubs, raves and pirate radio stations across the country. The sound already had many names: “Yorkshire bleep and bass,” “Yorkshire bass” and, simply, ‘bleep’.

November 9th we join forces to pay homage to the sound that changed UK club music forever. Limited edition tape curated especially for the party available for those down early. First 50 through the door go free!
