w/ Feena ELANDA

STFU! turns one in its next instalment! STFU! is a form of somatic therapy for people who love to dance for a peace of mind with open hearts and minds. Life can be intense, chaotic and unpredictable in positive and negative ways and STFU! gives people an opportunity to find their own voice through dancing to bass music. Dancing is a natural form of somatic therapy that facilitates somatic release of emotional tension stored within the body. We’re pleased to welcome Edinburgh’s icon, Feena and our resident DJ ELANDA to lead this special dance session. Breaking into the Edinburgh club scene in 2018, EHFM Co-Director and resident at Miss World at Sneaky Petes, Feena has been tearing it up in the Scottish scene for time. She prioritises community spirit to promote local sounds beyond her home city’s borders, with appearances in Bristol, London, Aberdeen and Glasgow. A release on Scuffed Recordings, mixes on the NTS, Rinse FM and SWU FM frequencies, and a recent mix with prominent podcast series Daisychain, Feena’s sets traverse the spectrum of bass, taking us through digidub iterations of dancehall all the way through to the sharpest of breaks and rapid fire mixing through jungle and dubstep. ELANDA is a DJ & producer from Zimbabwe now residing in Birmingham after making herself heard in the music scene across Scotland with her percussive and intoxicatingly hypotonic melodic style. She has had some of her productions and mixes featured on BBC Radio One. She holds a bi-monthly residency at La Cheetah Club, Glasgow for “STFU!” where she invites you to ground yourself on the dance floor by embodying your personal expression through the exploration of bass music In February 2024 she released her debut track “Glasgow Stint” under Glasgow’s Redstone Press Label for the “Feeling Everything, At Once” in Support of Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH). She also released “Bunda Bop” ft Mod-R through Livery Street Social Club which has been played on BBC Radio One several times. ELANDA has played at various clubs and festivals across Scotland and England, and has been support for some heavy hitters such has Dj Lag, KILIMANJARO, Eliza Rose, DJ SWISHA, Interplanetary Criminal, Om Unit and plenty more. Her sound is a multifarious eclectic, deep, dark- a rhythmic-led melodic bass trip .Flowing seamlessly from afro-tech/house, to global bass, leftfield, and UK dubstep etc she brings an effortless finesse to dance music. Don’t be surprised if she drops some R & B tunes on the occasion too though! Expect the unexpected with this one
