Mamiko Motto is a one-off. An artist whose stylish outputs in djing, production, sound design and art direction takes cues from no-one. Her label GASS, launched in 2016 fuses razor sharp visuals with an always stellar output from artists such as Chevel, Body Mechanic and Blaqstarr.. Mamiko’s djing style is bold and jacking, and, like ENVY, shares a love for a swung hook and sublime melody. As a person she is by her own admission pretty bonkers. She radiates infectious energy in the booth and has one of the naughtiest presenting voices on community radio. She’s released on labels like Warp and Big Dada and collaborated with the likes of Hudson Mohawke, but needs no one’s star power to elevate hers. She’s also one of the founders of NTS radio, and we all owe her some gratitude for that alone! Excited for Mamiko’s ENVY debut and for her long-awaited return to a city she holds dear.
